Ever since I was a child and was asked what do you want to be when you grow up? My answer was always sort of vague but full of purpose "I want to help people".
So fast forward some years (more than I care to mention) and here I am with a soap business. Still in its early stages but definitely a business. I enjoy seeing peoples faces as they enjoy the fragrances, some people just have to smell each fragrance and I love that, but I knew there had to be more to the business than simply selling our soap.
So I was left wondering, how do I achieve my goal of "helping people" with soap?. Well......my heart has been greatly moved to learn about the conditions the Syrian refugees live in. They have left their homes, everything that is familiar to them and most of their possessions. Their home is now a tent village in Lebanon and their living conditions are beyond basic.
This is where my passion for helping people and the soap business connected and "soap with a cause" was born. This is a buy one, send one initiative. We have packaged two guest sized soaps, in either lavender or French vanilla. For each package purchased ($5/ package) we will send one package to a Syrian refugee woman who has been displaced to Lebanon. While we realize that this is a very small gesture, the soaps will be delivered with a message of hope and show those who have nothing that they are beautiful and loved.
I am so excited that "Soap with a cause" has been born! I fully expect this to be a great emphasis of the business and already have in mind the recipients for the next project after the Syrian ladies have been taken care of!
Farm Sweet Farm has committed to send 100 packages of soap to Lebanon, they will be hand delivered by a team of ladies in May 2018. We hope you will buy some soap, support this cause and enjoy using it knowing that you have sent a package to a lady who is possibly at the darkest time in her life.
UPDATE: This project has been completed, check back soon for our next soap with a cause project.
